Musk says such chips can be used to cure diseases like dementia, Parkinson or spinal cord injuries.
As promised Elon Musk demonstrated the technology, which will be used to control devices with the mind with a piggy bank which had a chip the size of a coin in the brain.
Musk Neuralink startup applied last year to launch human testing. The technology would enable people with neurological problems to control phones and computers with their brains.
Musk says such chips can be used to cure diseases like dementia, Parkinson’s or spinal cord injuries.
But for Musk this is the first step towards the era of the superman who will be able to confront the artificial intelligence which, according to him is so powerful that it can destroy the human race.
The piglet named Gertrude is one of three piglets that have been part of the test. As he ate, the brain showed a graph which tracked nervous activity.
Founded in 2017, Neuralink worked to recruit scientists, something Musk advertised on Twitter last month.
The device he created contains over 3,000 electrodes which can monitor the activity of 1,000 neurons.
