Apple today released perhaps the latest major version of iOS 13 before iOS 14 arrives.
One of the biggest updates to iOS 13.7 is an upgrade to the Covid-19 notification system developed by Apple and Google on iOS and Android.
Called Exposure Notification Express, it offers users the opportunity to be part of local authorities’ efforts to inform people, whether or not they have been in contact with people infected with Covid-19.
When you switch to iOS 13.7, you will see a new section in the Settings menu “Turn on Exposure Notifications.” By activating this option user can download Covid-19 applications if they are available in their country.
Whereas in places where local authorities have decided to use the Apple system, iOS 13.7 sends notifications to the device without having to download a separate application to the phone.
Participation in this option is voluntary. Beyond Covid-19, the update brings new Memoji stickers and the iCloud Drive folder to the Files app.
It also contains troubleshooting. To download the update goes to General and then to Software Update.
